Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) affects one in 500 people worldwide, regardless of gender, age or ethnicity. More than 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million people around the world suffer from this debilitating genetic disease. The PKD Foundation is dedicated to funding research to find a treatment and a cure for PKD. Through its network of volunteer chapters around the country, the Foundation supports programs of awareness as well as education, advocacy and support for PKD patients and their family members. More information is available at www.pkdcure.org.
We partner with this charity because it is close to the heart of Adam Stuhlfaut, Owner of Bayside Runner. His immediate family has been affected by PKD, and he is grateful for all that the Foundation does – from searching for the cure to providing resources to families affected by the disease.
